About

Welcome to onlyverysmall! I'm Sarah, the one driving this flying umbrella.

I've been getting my hands into various crafts since I was painting rocks neon pink in the backyard and selling loop potholders to unsuspecting relatives. I like to think I've come a long way since then, but... let's face it: I'd still be content to paint rocks for an afternoon.

People often ask: Why paper flowers, and how did you learn? I decided a long time ago that I didn't like the idea of real bouquets. Plants are pretty, but I could never see the sense in chopping them up. And those horrible fake flowers? No thank you.

So one day, in a crafty fit, I decided to make some flowers for my living room. The Internet dutifully showed me the wonders of kusudama. Fast forward a month or two of experimenting, and I learned I could vary the folds just slightly and come up with completely different designs. Fun! That's why I try to make every flower, in every order, unique — and why it's nearly impossible for me to recreate the same exact bouquet more than once.

All items are handmade in my smoke-free, pet-free, onlyverysmall studio apartment. And sometimes in the smoke-free, pet-free coffee shop down the street.

If you're up for some crafty antics, find me over at www.onlyverysmall.com.
