Karole Mazeika's Profile
OROPOPO is made and crafted by a husband and wife duo.
They draw from Native American, classic Western, and New Mexican culture to create modern, geometric pieces that breathe new life into American history.
Karole's professional background is in architecture and engineering. Her life experience is a "mescolanza" gathered in the coast of Venezuela, the hustle and bustle of Brazil, a persistent Lithuanian heritage, the easy life of Northern California and the relentless horizon of the American Southwest - the latter revealing a process deeply rooted to place. By refining a narrative that she develops with Grady, a fiction writer from Tucumcari, New Mexico, they combine site and culture with contemporary technology to lend a mythical state to the everyday.
