Welcome to Our Special Angels. We assist disabled young people to grow and flourish through the art of crafting. They have learned to crochet, knit, loom and quilt, rubber stamp and the wonderful world of machine embroidery. The Angels group has provided training and leadership to over 70 teens and adults, and the organization continues to grow.

Our Special Angels has two areas of emphasis. First is to help those who are challenged with disabilities to experience the art of crafting and learn new skills on their way to independence. Issues such as Autism, developmental delay, cerebral palsy, deafness, and blindness among others challenge these angels. You can help them to find a new joy and peace in their lives.

Our Second area of emphasis is to assist those who are financially challenged and suffering through extreme poverty. 92 of the 100 poorest counties in the United States are located on Native American reservations. Life expectancy is often less than 55 years, infant mortality of 40 to 50 % - yes right here in our own country.

If you are interested in becoming a member, we would greatly appreciate your input. Members assist with physical donations such as appliques, blanks threads, offer their time sewing, crocheting and knitting etc. As well as assisting in fundraising and obtaining donations by letter writing. We are desperate for supplies- it is just beyond our means of our youth to purchase these items- the young people in our group are often in state institutions and have been abandoned by family members who found their disabilities to be all too overwhelming. Would there be any way you might be able to find in it in your means to become a part of our organization?

Current programs include
Secret Pal program - you are matched with another member for three
Big Sister Program - you are matched with one of the Special Angels, and write them as you have time - weekly is nice but we know life is busy and then help them out with special things maybe some special yarn if they are looming, or if they have a special event
Quarterly Challenge - we are attempting to purchase for the Angels use an embroidery machine - we used one that belong to one of the moms until we literally burned out the motor - the Angels make beautiful work - but it can be slow going -we have asked our yahoo group to join us in this effort by making things to sell at the craft fairs so if you have anything from woodworking to painting, embroidery to quilting that might just be a hot seller we would love for you to participate and help make this dream come true.

We are officially a 501c3 non-profit organization!!! You will receive a receipt from us for every purchase you make that includes the items you purchased as well as the shipping cost.
