These bear paintings are inspired by a love and a deep respect for all sentient beings--two legged, four legged, many legged, no legged (plants) and those with fins.

The bear paintings are partially inspired by this story:

Once a hunter in New Mexico went out shooting wolves. He cornered and was about to kill one when the wolf looked him in the eyes. I must assume the man recognized another sentient being in the wolf’s eyes. After that encounter, he not only stopped hunting wolves, but he actually started the movement in New Mexico to save and re-introduce wolves in the desert. They are still endangered but are starting to make a comeback due largely to his efforts.

Instead of wolves the paintings are of bears but this deeply inspiring story applies to all animals: one wolf’s ability to move one man ended up saving the lives of many wolves.

We are all like that wolf: small yet interconnected with the whole world and the little things we choose to do everyday matter. Any action we choose to make can change the world as long as we have the intent to do so.

All we need is love...and action.

Thanks for supporting bears:
