About

Welcome to Past Panache, a menagerie of upcycled, one of a kind wedding accessories, apparel, and vintage finds. I have always had a wild imagination and a curiosity about the story behind handmade items. Now, my passion is to recycle vintage items and let them tell their own new story.

I just ended a 40 year career in advertising, wedding planning, floral design and catering. Each job had something wedding related within it. Plus, weddings seem to be a common thread in my family that goes back generations. Besides having many family needlework artists, even my great grandfather was a wedding designer. He would go to the woods and gather huge bundles of smilax, magnolia, wild ferns and gardenias to create wedding decorations Martha Stewart would envy. Like him, I love 'all things wedding'.

It's natural that this new business would be something wedding. I am very organic in my approach and many times, just start sewing and see what happens. Bridal items all come from recycled wedding gowns and silk boudoir pieces. To supplement recycled garments, I also purchase fine silk, satin, chiffon, ribbon, trim and feathers. I also create my own flower creations, unique and OOAK.

I am the proud mother of one son, who hung the moon, & the daughter of a beautiful mother who helps me with cutting, handsewing and knitting. Cooking for hungry boys is my favorite, baking cookies and bread, a close second.
I love old movies and comedies, reading and hanging out with my friends. I am a widow, but have hopes of finding new love personally and in business.

If you have an idea, a wedding or evening gown to recycle, please let me know. The possibilities are endless. Our goal is to give you quality items that are made with much love and fine workmanship. Our hope is that some of these pieces will be future heirlooms, a small part of your most special day.
