I am a wife,mother,grandmother, retired teacher, and crafter. I taught art and
biology, and my husband taught woodwork. We like to travel, visit grandchildren,
and work on our crafts. We sell at craft shows twice during the year. He makes barnwood items.
I learned to weave as part of my art degree in college, but never had the time
or money to buy a large loom and start weaving on my own. A couple of years
ago, I found a 100-year-old loom at a flee market for $45.00. It was missing
the back beam and brake, so I enlisted the help of a couple of friends who had
mechanical expertise, and woodworking skills. They designed and constructed
the missing parts, and it worked like a charm.
