Paula Newman's Profile

About

Hi, i'm Paula, and i hunt for Sea Glass on the beach at Seaham, Co Durham, In the North East of England. I probably have the best job in the world, which entails walking on the beach as the tide goes out, finding gorgeous pieces of sea glass that have been sea tumbled for a century, or more, and then finding them a new home, whether as a collectable piece, or made into jewellery.

I have a partner, who is helping to develop my second store, PeblsArt as well as his own Graphic Art elsewhere. We have two daughters, one is now a Video Editor and recently made a documentary on collecting sea glass in Seaham after I ran a fun Kickstarter campaign. The resulting film is called "All Washed Up" and is being shown at festivals throughout 2016, My other daughter is my little helper on the beach, and is destined to become a writer, so who knows, a book about hunting for sea glass with mum perhaps?…

I have a goal, and that's to buy a house with the proceeds of selling Sea Glass, and in only four years of running Peblsrock as a full time business, we're over 70% there. I am keeping my fingers crossed that i can achieve this by 2018 and hopefully before property prices climb out of reach again.
