welcome to psoup handmade accessories!

i've always loved the process of making things. the last few years i've focused that energy on my sewing machine. it's an outlet for my creativity and i love the challenge of working with new patterns and new materials.

i make many of my accessories by repurposing items like the banners and 25 pound onion bag labels that I've turned into tote bags or the unused upholstery fabric samples that I make into ipad sleeves, purses, pouches and handbags. i shop at secondhand stores for most of my materials, making many items one-of-a-kind. i also like to use vintage buttons and lace to make each of my items a bit more unique.

when i come across material that's meant for one use (like chicken feed bags, cat food bags and even coffee bean bags), i look for ways to keep their life cycle going. so many of these materials are strong and durable, it's a shame to toss them after one use. i always wash these materials carefully to remove all residue.

this past spring & summer, I started working with New Seasons Market in Portland (http://www.newseasonsmarket.com/). i took their old store banners and turned them into totes to sell in all of their 13 stores. this collaboration between psoup handmade and New Seasons Market means that each tote purchased helps keep a banner out of the landfill.

thank you for supporting individual artists!

all sewing is done by me in a smoke-free home.

the name 'psoup' comes from a nickname my Grandpa gave me when i was young.
