About

At the tender age of 6, I had a girlfriend of mine lay down on an old sheet that my Mother was about ready to throw in the rag bag. I began tracing her, and with a blunt pair or scissors and a needle and thread, fashioned a dress. My friend’s Mother liked it so well that she gave me a nickel, and my friend and I went to the candy story to spend my first sale. By 10, I was making troll doll clothes and selling them for 3 or 4 cents to my classmates on the school bus.
I have always loved to create things, casting aside patterns and coming up with my own ideas. Somehow it was just more satisfying. When my daughter and son were born, I decided to start doing craft shows as a way to be a stay at home Mom, and contribute to the family income. I still remember the first show. When my daughter and son were born, I decided to start doing craft shows as a way to be a stay at home Mom, and contribute to the family income. I still remember the first show. Now many years have passed, and also many shows.
The idea to make bulletin boards came from being challenged by my sister Sara to create something useful, and not just something to collect dust. The very first one was crafted in March of 1990, and I have been designing them ever since.
I live up in Michigan's beautiful Upper Peninsula, way out in the woods on Lake Superior. There are not many distractions up here, the pace is slow, and it's a place that your creative juices can really flow.
Be sure to check out my sister's shop, Saraphina. If it weren't for her, I might be still be making dust collectors!
