Plamena Goranova's Profile
I live in the small and beautiful town of Gabrovo at the foot of the Balkan mountains close to a river, a town famous for having a strong craft tradition. Gabrovo is home to the only open-air ethnographic museum in Bulgaria - Etara. Here the craftsmen display live in their tiny shops the traditional Bulgarian crafts. If you are interested, you can visit: http://www.etar.org/index-en.htm.
I really enjoy the place I live and I feel inspired somehow to create new things by knitting and crocheting.
I started knitting at the age of 5 or 6. First I learnt to crochet, then to knit on two and later on 5 needles.
I have studied in an art school, made needlework into my profession but knitting turned into my hobby. I have got 3 children and I decided to knit some toys for them and to lend variety to my knitting. They enjoyed them so much that the toys soon became their favourite.
