Brandon Phillips' Profile
I took my first clay class in high school in 1997 and haven't stopped working since.
I have a BFA in ceramics from Abilene Christian University and currently teach as an adjunct at Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene, Texas. I work in the studio nearly every day.
I believe in treading lightly on the earth with my short time so I attempt to make my processes as economical as the potting process can be. My kiln is fueled with wood(a renewable resource) that is scrap from construction sites and heading for the landfill. My glaze materials are made in part with wood ash from a local BBQ joint and red clay from beneath my feet. My intent is to make pots that are functional and can provide daily use.
