About

A Southern "girl", I'm all about getting back to the basics of making things the old-fashioned way--when they were made to last! I've been sewing since I was 13, in HomeEc class, making clothes for myself. We even had a fashion show! I later began making things for my children, and then my grandchildren, which is a bigger thrill than I ever imagined! I love sewing for babies and children, whether it's apparel, blankets, doll clothes, or other fun stuff.

When I was a girl, I made clothes for my Barbie doll. I didn't have a sewing machine at home then, only at school, so I made them by hand, stitching every piece together with a needle and thread! I purchased my first sewing machine when I was a young wife and mother and since then, I've discovered that if it can be made on a sewing machine, I can make it! It is a wonderful skill to have and I am so thankful I learned it early on…

It is a wonderful skill to have and I am so thankful I learned it early on.

My granddaughter, Elena (the older girl in my profile photo), received an American Girl doll for Christmas and so my latest obsession is making doll clothes for the 18" doll. I must tell you, it's the most fun I've had at the sewing machine and I owe it all to Elena. In fact, most of my inspiration has come from my grandchildren, especially the Halloween costumes, and I'm sure they'll still have these costumes and doll clothes and baby things when they have children of their own!

I have fond memories of those unique items made by my own grandmother that I adored and still have today. To me, there's nothing more special than opening up your closet or chest and seeing items there that were made decades ago!

It is my fond hope that, together, we can come up with something unique for you or your precious little one that, years from now, will be looked upon with fond memories, too! It would be an honor to sew that special item for you.

Thank you so much for visiting my shop! I truly appreciate each and every one of my customers and browsers, alike!
