I am thankful to Etsy for the opportunity to offer my one of a kind and very limited edition handmade pillows covers here. Making comfortable pillows to nestle in that are neatly tailored and embellished authentically without being pretentious is my goal. To appreciate the pillow as an artful expression and then to find tactile comfort brings me joy and I hope to you as well. I personally design, hand detail and tailor all of the pillows seen here. They come from the heartland, truly.

Here is an excerpt from February, 2011 House Beautiful article “Grand Gestures” featuring interior designer Erin Martin, reflecting on my work:

HB: The doors aren’t the only showstoppers in the livingroom. There are those two-tone curtains sporting strands of bone beads …

EM: The curtains were made by (Valerie Johnson) an artist in Kansas
who I use a lot because her work is so original.
They have that faded, old feeling that appeals to
me, something that’s mellowed over time, and they have a naturalness with the bone bead and the handprinted Moorish motif on top.

Rewind:

Fabric & I have a densely woven history. As a young girl with a passion for Barbie and no money to buy that pink ball gown, wantingly packaged and displayed with so many other out of reach frocks, I would pillage my mom's fabric stash and handmake a fanciful wordrobe for her. My mom taught me how to use a sewing machine, embroider & knit back in the day and I am so thankful she had the patience & generousity to share these time treasured techniques with me. I was a crafty little girl throughout my childhood, in more ways than one! Headed off to university to study sports medicine. Barely surviving Anatomy class, analyzing a most disgusting cadaver , I quickly changed my tune~back to my first love, earning a Bachelor's of Science degree in Textile Design. Careers in visual merchandising and interior design connecting with so many genuine, inspiring people along the way. 9 years ago, I braved it on my own, opening a home furnishings design and fabrication studio. Designing pillows is a passion of mine and having Etsy as an outlet to rationalize the desire to create these comforting, expressive home accessories is a wonderful balance for me. So thanks for taking time to read a little about me; I hope you enjoy my work and come back to visit often.
