About

Welcome to Pinkhouse Handworks! This is the name I chose several years ago for a little business I hoped to have one day. The birth of my daughter in November 2007 has made the business a reality. After being a Montessori guide in Austin, Texas for 10 years, I left my classroom to be at home with my daughter.

With a Montessori background myself (I attended Montessori school from 2 1/2 to 11 years old and assisted in elementary and middle school levels before training) and generous friends with the Montessori Birth to 3 training, I set out to make the special items from their trainings for my daughter. Running this little home business has been like nothing I have ever done before---much like being a parent. I am learning daily from this experience. I feel grateful to be able to make these toys for infants and am delighted they have found their way out into the larger world.

With the wonderful support of family and friends, I hope to continue making baby toys for infants for a long time.
