I'm Debra Joy. I'm a friend, wife, mommy to 3 (ages 1,3, and 6), and this here brand Plucky Mustard is my fourth baby. I love making shirts and encouraging Mommies, and my shop is where those two things come together for me.

I trained to be a therapist, and my husband and I work together for Christian non-profit doing lots of awesome stuff like life-coaching, counseling, teaching, and traveling. (We also perform his music for fun!) But as our babies came along and I had to back off from all of that, I found myself in search of something home-based to funnel my creative and connect-ive energy.

For years friends and family have asked me if I've ever considered selling the shirts I make. But I shied away from that, because my heart is really to give them as gifts. I love the experience of making something heartfelt and one-of-a-kind for the people in my life, and it is such a personal thing for me that I never considered turning it into a business.

But a cousin of mine who also runs a successful Etsy shop {and who did my branding! Woot to Chelsea over at Bella Lulu Ink!} gave me a nudge this direction, and helped me realize that I should do this, precisely BECAUSE it's so personal for me. Because what I have to offer all of you, out there, is something unique, that only I can give. And I want to give it to YOU!

I'm excited to make handmade, one-of-a-kind gifts for all of you, out there. My world has never felt big enough for all the stuff I wanted to make. And now, finally, it is. I'm so glad that you're a part of it! <3
