Welcome to our etsy page. Don’t you just love this place !! It’s a labyrinth of people following their bliss in a whole rainbow of mediums. And the part that’s so inspirational is the attendance and appreciation of the every-day people who view and support these dreamers and artists. Let there be streamers and balloons for members on all sides, and especially the ones who pioneered this special place in cyberspace.

We see this concept as a fusion between historic charm and organic craftsmanship. Bottles such as these are normally dug up from residential landfills which have been buried for more than 100 years. Some may call it belated recycling, but we think it’s treasure hunting. This is a very fun and meditative craft for us, and we’re happy to lend our delicate hand and curious eye to collect and create these golden artifacts for you.

Our bottles come from local antique shows, dealers, diggers, and the hunt for the right pieces for our collection is a pleasure that we hesitate to call “work”. The collectors and excavators are filled with such great stories, energy and information, and when they pass a rare bottle into our hands, they seem pleased to know that we’re going to share the fine aesthetic of their trade with others.

As new to the online thing as we are, it’s been inspiring to hear from all of you, and to see how many people have been taken with the simple beauty of these common-day items from a time when America was just picking up her stride.

We’re in the process of carefully expanding our operation, and we’re looking forward to someday being able to extend the arm of this positive and sustainable project over the shoulders of our fellow brothers and sisters who have been struggling against the rising tides of this current economy. It’s our dream to be able to outfit a fleet of old Blue Bird school buses into Bio Diesel candle making studios, so we can literally deliver jobs to the people who need them most. The more people that light up their lives and homes with these candles, the more Blue Bird’s take flight. It’ll be bliss … repeating, and we can make it happen : ) This is only a dream at present, but it’s one that will change lives through art, sustainability, and people helping people.

amen,

- peter & juwels
