I have been sewing ever since junior high school in the late 60's; mostly I made clothing. During 7th grade sewing class, I swore I'd never sew again. But once I knew how to make clothes properly, I was no longer satisfied with store bought clothes. I had to make them myself. But then I had kids and pretty much stopped sewing clothes.
I began making quilts in 1983 and became completely addicted to them.
I get my ideas from my collection of quilting books, from the flowers in my yard and just about everything I see.
Most recently, I've become hooked on making bags which allow more creativity and experimentation than quilts do.
I used to be a nurse, but had to quit because of sudden disability. Sewing became even more important to me after that.
I say my home is cat friendly because we did have cats. They are all gone now, but there is likely still hair around…
