Kathleen was born in San Antonio, where her father was career Military and her mother a craftsperson. Kathleen’s decision to become an artist came at the early age of seven when she participated at a local exhibit. Her love of clay and sculpting inspired her dual concentration at the University of Texas at San Antonio where she earned a Bachelors in Fine Art.
Kathleen has exhibited at local galleries including the Blue Star and the Carver Cultural Center, Southwest Craft Center, and Art Inc. working in mixed media drawing inspiration from family, life and nature. Through ArtsTeach, she brings her love of art to school children throughout Bexar County. She is a member of the Precious Metal Clay (PMC) Guild and is a certified instructor in that medium. Recently Kathleen was chosen as one of 10 artists to recreate and embellish a Violin for the Cactus Pear Music Festival. Violins were auctioned off to raise funds for CPMF children’ programs. Kathleen’s violin was featured in Studio PMC under member happenings.
Kathleen, husband Chip and their daughter Emily split their time between San Antonio and their family ranch on the Guadalupe River.
