Kim Loberg's Profile

About

I am a professional Nebraska artist who makes part of my living selling my original art and craftwork via the Internet. I have been drawing since pre-school years and learned to oil paint at age 14 from a neighbor who taught me how to paint realistic wildlife animals. Kim Loberg Studio is the name of my business where I create artwork in a variety of mediums including pencil, ink, pastels, acrylics, oil paints, and watercolors. Being both a seamstress and crafter at heart, I also “sculpt” with needle and thread in fabric and add wood and clay to bring to life whimsical, zany creatures in 3D. My art and craftwork has been collected worldwide and most collectors know me for my carousel horses, hippocampus, animals, fantasy, and wildlife, which are my favorite subjects.

Professional information: I went back to college as a non-traditional student and now have a Bachelor of Science degree in Studio Art from Wayne State College and an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Business Management-Entrepreneurship. (It’s never too late to reach for the stars and realize your dreams!). I am a member of both the Northeast Nebraska Art Association and GROW Nebraska, Nebraska’s entrepreneurial, marketing and educational organization. My artwork has been exhibited at the Miniature Art Show at Prairie Winds Art Center in Grand Island, Nebraska, the NNAA Spring Art Show, at the Nebraska Game & Parks Commission State Habitat Art Contest and the 24th Annual Wyoming conservation Stamp Art Competition, Sale & Show, and at Wayne State College's Juried Student Fall 2007 & 2008, Spring 2008 & 2009 shows and her 2009 Senior Exhibit Art Show.

If maybe my name sounds a little familiar it could be because I previously designed for national craft magazines and promoted area craft shows. Currently, I still operate Kimberly Ann’s, a home-based business that, at one time, was called K & R...in the Country. Using acrylic fur fabric as a medium, I create stick giraffes, dragons, unicorns, cows, and pigs, as well as traditional stick horses for children of all ages. My whimsical animal kitchen towel sets add an amusing touch to any home’s décor.

Home on the Farm: My family lives on a farm with an abundance of horses, turkeys, geese, ducks, chickens and outside dogs and cats. Inside, our family is allowed to live with a spoiled cat named “Bob,” a Pomeranian named “Sweet-ums” and Sweet-um's baby Pom, "Beeker."
