Paula Weiss Pottery's Profile

About

My functional ash glazed stoneware and earthenware pots begin on a kick wheel. I finish the pots in a variety of ways including combing, finger pulls, sgraffito and overglaze painting. I'm a geologist as well as a potter which is why some of my pots may have a fossil or geological structure or two. Living in northwest Phoenix, Arizona, surrounded by the most beautiful desert in the world, the Sonoran, my work abounds in Sonoran desert references as well. Geological, botanical, zoological, archeological or simple and unadorned, I hope you'll enjoy looking, holding and using my pots as much as I love making them.

Thanks for having a look!
