About

According to my mother, I showed my artistic talent when I was a baby. She found me in my crib, finger painting circles on the wall with stuff I found in my diaper. I suppose I have always been one who can find ways to turn "trash" into treasure.

When I was a young mom, I didn't have much money, that is nice talk for, I could hardly afford wrapping paper for a gift. But that didn't stop me...I just went to my big drawing pad, ripped out a sheet of paper and splatter-painted the whole thing with acrylic paints I had. Voila! Custom wrapping paper. And so it has always been this way with me.

My son and daughter's Halloween costumes were handmade by me because the store bought costumes were so over priced and I just couldn't afford two at a time. In my mind, I knew I could make a better costume and I wasn't at all limited to design. Many years in a row, my kids took first place at the Halloween costume parties they attended. That makes me feel good and it made my children feel great! They had a one-of-a-kind piece of artwork. What didn't show was at the time, I just couldn't afford the fancy costumes and things for my kids.

Christmas was the same issue. I'd see a magnificently decorated tree in a magazine and I'd figure out how to get that same look by creating it myself. It was hard work, but the results were pretty amazing.

I love to paint, draw, glue, and create. I'm home now from work for several weeks due to surgery on my foot and decided to take this time and use it wisely, not just wallow in the pain, but rather begin creating treasures.

When I discovered Etsy, I found a whole new way of sharing my passion and it was literally right at my fingertips. This is my way of sharing what I love with my growing family, friends, and those all over the world.

I hope you enjoy what I've created for you and know it comes straight from my heart.

Never lose sight of your passions and dreams, you can easily make it a reality.

All the best...Karen
