Gerald Butch Jacobs' Profile

About

I am a member of the Passamaquoddy tribe of the down east Maine region. I have been making baskets since 1999. All of the materials and the process in which I create, is 100% natural, traditional, and organic. I use Black Ash, that is harvested from my land. I pound it out myself. I also use sweetgrass in my baskets. I gather that from the coastal tribal land. Each piece that I create is truly unique. I do use molds, but because of the varience in the wood grain, and the different shades that nature produces, no 2 baskets ever come out the same. Each piece will be signed and dated. become a friend/fan on facebook.
