About

A little about me: I come from folk who were creative out of necessity - my Mum was (still is) the queen of thrift and instilled in me her 'waste not, want not’ ethic. Dad worked as a dyer at Australian Thread - night shifts 6 days a week to make ends meet, dyeing long skeins of cotton that stained his hands. I’d make rainbow collages from his thread sample charts - and I’ve been crafting in some sense ever since. I like to bake. I like to sharpen pencils. I will never have a work space that is big enough. I’m a mum to Tyler who’s six, and Holly Raine who is four. I live in the shadow of the blue mountains, and I like to drink tea at our huge timber slab table that my husband made. He carved the children’s hand prints into the underside of the timber, and I like to feel the texture of their tiny fingers. You don’t get that from Ikea.
