Embroidery art stole my heart in 1993, when I saw a beautifull gobeline picture in German fashion magazine “Burda Mode”. Without using any finished pattern I tried to make the same gobeline.
I made a hand drawing on canvas, and then I started to “paint” with embroidery thread on it. I mixed differend colors of the thread, just to get the same color effect from the picture.
After this first piece, I startet to make my gobelins just for pleasure.
I felt a huge freedom to make my own embroideryes without using any templates or finished patterns. I wanted to challenge myself all the time, and after a while my gobelins started to get bigger and more advanced.
My collection grow big, and since 2009 I startet to make an exhibitions several times every year. Just because I wanted to show this forgotten type of art and how beautiful it is. I find my inspiration for my embroidery paintings in arts from Dut…
