Ralphine Pughsley's Profile

About

Hello All, I am Ralphine Pughsley, thanks for stopping by my shop...I got my name from my father, a small town Pharmacist in S.C. His name was Ralph, but everyone called him Doc' Pughsley. A graduate of Tuskegee University in Alabama, majoring in Art, I have a passion for the arts, also a passion for youth. As a recent retiree of the District of Columbia government, Department of Employee Services, I managed the agency’s Business Resource Center, and have always looked forward to owning my own shop...Etsy has given me this opportunity.

For several of my 22 years with the District government, I worked with youth programs, and hope to some day form a non-profit in order to accommodate some of the needs of today’s youth. My new web site Bull-Proof.net is under construction, but visit it soon. I am currently employed with AFROTC, Detachment 130 at Howard University,…

Assisting with Commissioning Officers for the US Air Force... Rewarding!

I have been a jewelry designer and producer for nearly two decades, working with an array of stones and findings. I design and produce cards and placecards for parties, and I believe in “GREEN” therefore, I love to take old items to make new ones, and create non-functional works of art. In fact, I made my first “computer chair”, in the early ninety’s with "Art-O-Matic", in Washington, DC. I am skilled is a variety of art forms, creating an array of beautiful masterpieces.

Known mostly for acrylic, gift ornaments-hand painted on the inside, because of my visibility as a vendor at Washington, D.C’s local Eastern Market on Capitol Hill. My ornaments are in homes across the country, and also in several different countries around the world. These delicate ornaments are used as special gifts, awareness items, showers gifts and/ or the traditional Christmas ornament. Although, the ornaments may have a special color scheme, no one is alike…they are one-of- a kind beauties. In 2001, I made 300 colorful ornaments as favors for her daughter’s wedding.

Almost everyone who knows me, commissions my work.
