About

I am a mother of six children, five of which are boys. I have sewn since I learned how to do so in college. My college aged son recently led me to Etsy and I am glad to have joined the etsy family.

In my own large family, I learned the art of upcycling and re-using items in new ways long ago. While the concept of "hand-me-downs" is not always well received by growing children, re-configured items--clothes, toys, furniture, etc. were always welcome and especially if the kids were in on the project.

Many of my clothing items are made with upcycled fabric. What I mean by that is that while they are 100% post consumer goods (and I am not the original consumer!) About

What I mean by that is that while they are 100% post consumer goods (and I am not the original consumer!) BUT they have NOT previously had a life as another garment or linen product. They have, instead, come from the attics or garages or sewing room of another fabriholic who saw their potential (treasure) but never spent the time necessary to convert them (time is paid ransom).

Now the fabric is getting a second chance, "Ransomed Treasure".

Some items, specifically those made for bassinets use only "new fabric" be it sheets which have been cut down or specially ordered organic cotton. The fabric used in burp diapers/cloths is also new.

I enjoy a variety of projects which is why the shop has such a variety of items. For a time, the vintage sales is what kept me encouraged. Now I sell an equal number of items created by me as well and hope, as I begin my fifth year to increase the number of my creations sold.

Thank you for your interest in me and my work.
