About

Hello! The name for this site came out of my life experiences. My daughter is from China, she was born in the year of the Monkey, and the color red is considered lucky in China. So, I combined all three and came up with Red Monkey Studios. I have been formally trained in the art of glass etching through the use of free-form design and sand blasting techniques. It all started about four years ago when I happened into a glass shop in Hannibal, Missouri. I fell in love with all of the possibilities that working with glass offers. This led to a trip to California to train in glass etching and local classes in working with fused glass. Each day I discover more about glass and what can be accomplished in that medium. The learning never ends.
