Since childhood, staring at old tintypes and paintings, I found myself not fixed on the whitewashed faces, nor the wrinkles in hand and head, nor even the scenes of passion and privilege, but at the adornments of pearl and gold and geometric symmetry of perfect craftsmanship.
Now, it is no wonder, that I find myself recreating these delicate wristwares and stringed pendants, hoping not to improve, but to bring current with modern elements and findings, to make wearable again these antique accents to true beauty.
It is by happenstance that I fashion most of my work with thirty to ninety percent recycled materials. This is not a play at the social conscious of modern day, but a tribute to days past and the perfection and imperfection of those times.
