About

Welcome to my shop! My name is Heather and I am an avid traveler and amateur explorer. I have been collecting tidbits and trinkets from around the world and stashing them away for years. At long last I have decided to part with some of them so I can make room for my new finds and insure that I will never be a candidate to appear on "Hoarding: Buried Alive". Seriously.

As I clear out my storage area and bring the little treasures into the light again I will list them here so they can find new homes. Most of my items were collected in the mid 1980's from Nepal, India, Bali, and Thailand but if an item is newer I will note that in the listing. In the 1990's I also began collecting more items from the Middle East, Eqypt, Vietnam, Cambodia, and China.

Those were the good old days when you could talk any airline personnel into letting you check three huge suitcases and if they weighed a ton someone just slapped a 'heavy' sticker on the side for you.

I especially loved buying up items in small villages where I could meet the local craftspeople working on their pieces. If I remember stories from my purchases I will include them in the listing - like the little lady in Hoi An, Vietnam that looked like she was having a heart attack when I told her I wanted 100 of her silk lanterns (they make such great gifts!). When she regained her breath she insisted I come to dinner that evening with her family and I had a wonderful feast and one of the best evenings of my life. Though it was followed by an entire day of trying to hunt down 3 very large boxes and a roll of packing tape - practically impossible in Hoi An in 1994!

I hope you enjoy browsing through my items and will find something that you or a friend will cherish. I love each one of these pieces. Each is unique and most all of them are handmade by skilled craftsmen and women around the world. Whenever possible I watched them create their wares before picking out my favorites. Please enjoy and feel free to contact me with any questions.

Namaste~
Heather
