Hello. My name is Michael and I am the brains & brawn behind renovatedbooks. Let me start by saying that I LOVE old books! But I've had a difficult time putting my finger on exactly what it is...I do love the nostalgic old styles of days I never knew, the feel of old time-weathered paper rubbing against my fingers, and sometimes even the smell of the dusty-damp-dankness from the years lived out in used bookstores, basements, and thrift stores. But none of those things, in my opinion, captures my heart in a way that justifies writing 'love' in all caps. I am an even keel, simple sort of man that would rather instigate drama to be played out in front of me than to get involved myself and so, would rather leave emoticons and words in all caps to my fellow humans who have more vitality for that sort thing. But that's precisely it. I have a story...You have a story...We all have thousands and thousands of stories that make us who we are. Old books have stories too and I like (maybe even love) the idea of incorporating our stories, whether through sentences or sketches, into the stories that have been told before us. The old vintage pages that remain in these renovatedbooks can remind us not only of our collective history and our rootedness in the past, but enable us to create new stories as we live in the present and into the future.

ENJOY! :)
