I have almost always been a knitter, inherited no doubt from my two dear Grannies, (and all four Great-Grannies!) who were all wonderful knitters. Not forgetting my Mum, who taught me the basics and patiently cast on and off my knitting until I could remember how to do it myself! My first project was a monstrous doll's blanket, made aged 9. Since then I have come to specialise in knitted head, hand, foot and neck coverings!
I am most interested in the history of traditional knitting and am working more and more with the fabulous pure wools which are produced in the United Kingdom and Ireland. My Fair Isle and Scandinavian inspired stranded designs reflect the joy of wearing bright colours on a drab day.
