About

Eight years ago I quit my day job as a graphic designer, headed home and relaxed for a few months. There is only so much cleaning and painting one can do before it is finished and time to walk away from it. One day in August of 2006 I started working with silk and other fabrics. I had no idea I would be starting a business making patchwork skirts and silk garments when I quit my job.

My favorite work is composing cotton patchwork garments. I just love them. All cloth is carefully handpicked and placed within the garment for the most stunning and visually eye-catching feeling. Some of the more elaborate garments have up to 224 pieces while others can have up to 56 or so pieces. Patchwork pants which I don't sell too often have about 336 pieces.

Color and design is an important part of all of my work as well as how it moves about the body. Individual as we all are, my skirts and pants are just that, individual classics that transcend any fashion trends.

In the recent past my husband and I did a lot of silk work with shibori designs. At present I am taking a break from the demanding work. This was our process: I cut and sew silk pieces ready to have Shibori designs. My husband and I then use ancient Japanese Shibori methods of tyeing and binding the cloth in preparation for 2 or 3 different dye baths. I then assemble our long and short skirts, and Harem-style pants.

Hope you enjoy my work and thank you for visiting.
