I have been sewing for about 50 years. I learned to sew from my mama and my home economics teacher, Mrs. Strickland. I love fabric and selecting fabric that will make a lovely garment.
I believe in encouraging little girls to dress like girls (not miniature woman) for as long as possible. This has influenced my sewing for my granddaughters and my buyers. I choose patterns that are simple, classic, and timeless, and fabric that is eye-catching and age appropriate.
One of my most sentimental sewing experiences has been using fabric from seasonal dresses that I made for our daughter 15 years ago. I repurposed the fabric from the gathered skirts to make dresses for her two daughters. They are 4 and 9 years old.
I love the concept of clothing that can be lovingly worn and cared for, then passed down to another sibling, extended family member, dear friend, or the NEXT generation. These are the kinds of items that I sew…
