In 2011, Bija Malas was created by Iris Sutalo- owner, creator, mother, mala designer, ayurvedic healer, former special effects makeup artist, Pacific Northwest transplant, and living room yogi.

We believe the universe is waiting for you to speak and be heard. The hard part is finding the strength to silence ourselves long enough to hear the answers. Meditation teaches us to trust our inner guidance and feel oneness with the universe so that we can see our full potential realized. We all need more of that!

Each set of mala beads is smudged with sage or palo santo during the production process. It's a good idea for you to cleanse your stones when they arrive so they are free of any unwanted energy, and ready for a new mantra practice! Our favorite way to cleanse stones is to put them in a tree for a few hours, let them bathe in sun (some stones fade in sunlight, please ask or google your particular stone before leaving it out in the sun) or moonlight, or even letting them rest in a potted plant or dirt in your garden.
