Debra DuBois' Profile

About

I am a fiber person. I live and work in beautiful Northwest Arkansas.
I love fiber, color and texture and all things handmade. Fiber called to me several years ago in the form of knitting, then a whirl at spinning and then weaving really captured my interest. I purchased a friend’s loom with tapestry weaving in mind and went on to learn to weave cotton looper rugs. Loopers are the ultimate in recycling. The loops themselves are the waste material from fabric mills that make socks. It didn’t take much to become immersed in the rhythm of weaving. I just love the looper rugs. I try to stay away from more traditional weave patterns and love especially to combine colors free form. I have designed several free form larger rugs(for myself) I like to call my Taos series and have made numerous custom rugs for clients using my own designs and color combinations.
