Nancy C. Sampson's Profile

About

For most of my life I have enjoyed drawing and creating, and these interests led me to become an illustrator. Some of the digital collage illustrations that you see in my shop have also appeared in children's books and local (Brooklyn) publications. I've found that the process of creating and experimentation are very important. You never know where an idea, doodle, or image will lead you!

What I like about Etsy is that it makes unique, affordable, underground art available to anyone, and creates a space for artists like me to develop a fan base, which always helps fuel those creative fires. So, thanks for your support! If you like what you see, add me to your favorites and follow The Nancydraws Shop on Facebook or Instagram. There are a few different styles on display here; the final artwork in any of my styles comes into existence the same way, drawn on paper. Once I feel the drawing is finished, I scan it in to Photoshop. After that, I cut and paste from various sources if I am working in my collage style, or fill the drawing in with flat colors. Recently I have been adding watercolors to complete my drawings instead of working with them in Photoshop. (See the Love, New York series for examples of my painting and drawing work.)

I also enjoy world travel, cultural events, sipping fine cocktails with friends, beach days, and hiking.
