I love the beach. My desire to create silver jewelry started with beach combing while we were living in Micronesia. I wanted to take those gorgeous pieces of beach glass and shells and find a way to wear them. I started with wire wrapping. Then when I returned to Canada I took a silver smith class and an obsession was born.I love to combine beach glass with hammered silver, pearls and natural stones. In 2007 I also added art clay/pmc to this mix. Art clay silver and PMC are products developed in Japan. Recycled silver particles are combined with an organic binder to produce a clay that can be molded and shaped and even carved when dry. It is then fired where the binders burn off, the silver sinters, shrinking slightly in the process to leave a piece of jewelry that is .999 fine silver.
