The first craft I remember creating was a "doll" out of pinestraw in our backyard. It was about 2" high & looked a bit like cross between a child's drawing of a stick figure & a noose. I was probably in 2nd grade.
My Nana taught me how to knit & crochet when I was young. Many granny squares & ribbed scarves later, I learned about crochet patterns in college. A need for something warm to protect me from the cold snows of South Carolina produced my first hooded scarf & mittens.
Painting takes over for a while, but yarn crafts keep creeping back into my consciousness. Sometimes it's fabric that gets ahold of me, or I become obsessed with beads. Various and SUNDRY ideas float through my mind & it's hard to stay with the same thing for too long.
While the weather is cold, you can be sure to find me under a pile of yarn…
