Megan Harris' Profile

About

Hi!

I'm Megan and I love fabric - cotton, wool, woven, knitted, you name it! I love to knit, sew, dye, spin, and create new pretties!

I adore vintage patterns and pick them up when I can. You may also find me on Etsy under SanourrasPatternLove.

You may be wondering about my shop name. Sanourra is a name I created for an online character years ago, but it's stuck with me. It's a mixture of the French sante (health) and the English nourishment. Creating nurtures my soul, makes me more healthy as a being.

I love custom requests and listings, because it means I get to give you exactly what you want, which is a seller's dream! Don't hesitate to start a conversation with me…

DBA Registered in Oregon as Fabric Love.

Mostly self-taught, I've been sewing for about 10 years. I started with dresses and garments for SCA events (pre-17th century). My love of all things fabric spread from there, from gowns to bags to quilts. I have plans to start drafting clothing patterns and creating more clothes.

I have taken pattern drafting classes and worked for a while as a patterning assistant at a company that manufactures Wildland Firefighter clothing.

All the patterns for my handbags and pouches are original and drafted by me. Each one is handcrafted, so no two are ever exactly alike. I'm more interested in quality rather than quantity, so I put more time and care into each of my creations than a production factory could.

I love this big ball of spinning carbon and water that we call home, so I try to incorporate clean, reclaimed fabrics in my creations whenever I can.
