ABOUT ME,& STORE POLICIES

My work graphically represents my life. I have come to see my striving for the "perfect and happy" life as a clean form, and all the divergent paths and unexpected detours as the cutting away or crumbling of the original form. It is the acceptance of life as it comes--usually messy, unpredictable, and tragic--can lead to a new kind of beauty with richness and depth that only wisdom of experience can afford. I only now have words to describe this part of my experience that has been in my work for some time mostly because forms and shapes come more easily to me than words. I celebrate life in its chaos, juxtaposed with the eternal striving for order. Those universal themes are what resonate so sweetly to me when I work.

sarawestermark's Shop Announcement
I feel compelled to ornament the human experience with constructs of my imagination. I see beauty in clean lines and in quiet and reflective pieces. The moon, shrouded in mystery, is a constant source of inspiration and the pieces I create resonate with the deepest parts of my inner self, which no words can express.....Custom orders welcome.
My style has been defined as industrial chic crossed with organic. My shop features my original designs handfabricated by me in sterling silver, copper, gold, pearls, champagne diamonds, precious & semi-precious gemstones. Some pieces are made to order, so please allow 3 days lead time to shipping. I have always worked with my hands. It quiets my racing mind and helps me to connect with my inner self. When I work, I cannot concentrate on anything else but the task at hand--I am completely absorbed. Sometimes pieces come to me in my dreams--as if they have already been worked out for me. I try to have enough time to keep producing the ideas that I have stored in my head. I keep a notebook with me to sketch my thoughts. My sketches are very crude probably because my formal education is as a classical singer (although my dad was a painter--check it out at www.patriciaherbertgalleries.com and look for Jim Graham). My dad died nearly 4 years ago now. I know that he would love to see how I have pursued my artistic dreams. I have my master's degree in voice performance and I still perform locally in addition to teaching private voice lessons.

STORE POLICIES--Thanks for shopping with me! I appreciate your business and want to give you great customer service in addition to beautiful high quality handmade jewelry. Please contact me if you have questions about anything!

CONSTRUCTION MATERIALS--I use sterling silver, copper and some gold in my designs. I absolutely love to use diamonds, gemstones and pearls. I frequently oxidize my silver in liver of sulpher patina and brush off most to give a dark in the recesses sort of look. The copper is treated with the Renaissance Wax sealer. This keeps the copper from turning your skin colors and protects it from water. I wear one of my copper leaf pendants in the shower all the time with this finish and it has turned out well.

CUSTOM WORK OR COMMISSIONS--I welcome custom work and have lots of fun working come up with the right piece. After it is completed and you are satisfied with the photo, I will list it on ETSY as a RESERVE for your username. Please do not ask me to reproduce someone else's work, its goes against my code of ethics. Custom work cannot be returned.

JEWELRY--While some pieces are strictly one of a kind or in a limited series, earrings and some rings are made to order, so please allow 3 days lead time to the shipping.
