Luke Hartmann's Profile

About

Welcome to my shop and thank you for choosing me as your jeweler.
My name is Luke and I've been creating jewelry since I was a little kid at summer camp. I've lived on the coast of Maine my whole life and the sea has been a very important part of my life. I can't get enough of its salty goodness. My jewelry has progressed for the gimp and friendship bracelets I made when I was young, to taking macrame to the next level, to where I am today. I have been working in sea glass since 2009 and gave up my twelve year career as a lobster man at the end of the 2013 season to pursue my passion for making jewelry. I take pride in collecting all my own glass. I'm also a proud member of the North American Sea Glass Association insuring I only use genuine sea glass. I fell in love with chain making in 2011. I take my chain making very serious and above and beyond what most do. I hand make all my loops and solder or…

I hand make all my loops and solder or fuse every loop shut on all my chains! I also challenge myself to make smaller and smaller chains. I've gone as small as 1mm with 28 gauge wire. Many of my chains take over 80 hours to make.
I don't show my jewelry in any galleries! I choose not to show in galleries so my customers can get my jewelry for a fair price. My jewelry is only available through my website which is linked to my Etsy page or if your lucky enough to find me at a show where you'd get to see all my work and my unique display.
Thank you to everyone who has supported me and continues to support me in my passion for jewelry making. I take a lot of pride in everything I do and will stand behind every piece I make with 100% customer satisfaction.
