Keith Lo Bue is a jeweller, sculptor, teacher and self-described 'stuffsmith' who has work in many major collections, including the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, DC and the Museum of Arts and Design in New York. For over two decades his work has been exhibited all around the US and in Germany, Australia, New Zealand, France, Ireland and England. His website for his artwork is http://lobue-art.com.
In the last few years Lo Bue has been collecting and wearing vintage caps from the 1910s to the 1940s, and has established The Well-Dressed Head to make some of these vintage specimens available to buy. This fascination with vintage caps has led to Keith fabricating reproduction caps meticulously by hand, with slavish attention to period detail and utilizing exotic and rare vintage fabrics. These are available for the first time here, alongside the vintage examples, at The Well Dressed Head.
Lo Bue has set up a Facebook group for collectors and enthusiasts of vintage and vintage-style caps, called Cap Department. He would love you to join!
