My interest in making earrings comes from the fact that I do not have pierced ears - my grandma once told me that I had very thick earlobes, which symbolizes happiness in Korean culture. She told me that I shouldn't pierce it, and even after all those years of temptation (i.e., my friends always telling me that I should get it pierced) I still wear clip-on earrings!

The problem was that there were not that many beautiful clip-on earrings available... everything was just for people with pierced ears. So I decided to learn how to play with pliers and beads so that I could 'convert' normal earrings into clip-ons.

I've been continuously making earrings since four years ago - it all started at a beads shop my friend took me to in Providence, RI where I went to school. I had so much fun making earrings, and started wearing the ones that I had made.

When I moved to Washington D.C. (where I lived for a year), people started asking me where I got my earrings from, and they were all surprised when I told them that I made them myself!

I now live in London, UK, and I am making earrings with beads I collect from around the world. I buy most of my beads in London, but also get some from Seoul, Korea whenever I go back home.
