I am a self taught artist and an Iowa girl, born and raised. I now call the sunny beaches of southwest Florida my new home. An ex furniture designer turned full time independent artist. Embroidery was my first crafting crush. Ceramics, paper, and canvas are my new loves. Color, texture, function and environmentally friendly materials are my basis for product design. My creations are hand painted in my home studio in Cape Coral Florida, near the Gulf Coast.

My love for handmade runs deep. I am inspired and interested in South American, Polish, and Asian folk art. Pop culture references and animals, both real and mythical, often make an appearance in my work. I paint, draw, or embroider images that make me smile and hope they connect to a happy place within you as well. Addicted to the process…

My love for handmade runs deep. I am inspired and interested in South American, Polish, and Asian folk art. Pop culture references and animals, both real and mythical, often make an appearance in my work. I paint, draw, or embroider images that make me smile and hope they connect to a happy place within you as well. Addicted to the process of creating, I love collaborating with customers to create unique pieces that reflect their own inner artist and making their ideas a reality though my designs.

Right now I'm mainly working with porcelain, ceramic, and stoneware. Some items are made with new materials and some are upcycled vintage finds given a new twist. Everything I make I design myself. I usually skip the sketching process and get right to work painting or drawing directly on the piece. The end results are one of a kind functional pieces of art for you, your home, or a friend.

My work has been featured in Huffington Post, Do It Yourself Magazine, CrossStitcher Magazine, Hoopla: The Art of Unexpected Embroidery by Leanne Prain, and Us Weekly, Better Homes and Gardens Storage, and more. Recently I was chosen to have my work featured on UncommonGoods. You can read the interview here: http://blog.uncommongoods.com/2013/art-contest-winner-sarah-constantino/
