Jewels' Profile

About

From a very early age I have been fascinated with jewellery; the gleam of polished metal and all things that sparkled. My fascination grew into an obsession for Vintage pieces. I don't think of jewellery as inanimate pieces of metal. To me each piece is alive; full of vivid memories, history and an eagerness to partner with a new owner to be adored and cherished all over again.

Heirloom ~ The wisdom of one woman’s life passed on to the next.

I chose to include the word 'Heirloom' in my shop title because it reflects my belief that each piece holds the energy and experience from the previous owner.

For a sneak preview of some items before they are listed on Esty, and also 'before' and 'after' images of restorations, I invite you to 'Like' Sweet Heirloom Vintage on Facebook…

I get very excited when I learn that an item from my meticulously curated shop has been purchased for a Wedding; that it becomes part of a new love story, beautiful wedding ceremony and treasured memory. It really is an honour for me and I am humbled that others appreciate my selection of jewellery so much that they choose to wear a piece for the rest of their lives.

Women wear jewellery when they are married, when they hold their new born babies, when they hold their lovers hand and for all the special occasions and milestones in their lives. If only each heirloom piece could tell of the joys it has symbolised and happy events it has witnessed. What an epic story they would tell! Heirlooms stand as enduring reminders of tender proposals, great elation, momentous occasions, lavish gifts and timeless style.

Most items in my store were selected because they contain old cut diamonds. For me they are like ‘love at first sight’. Not bland and sterile like modern cut diamonds. Old cut diamonds are individual with deep sparkle and big wide facets that bounce rainbow colours like fireworks. They have a special elegant sparkle reflecting the light that has moved within them for decades. Old diamond cuts return light in rich blocky patterns while newly cut stones return light in needle like shards. I just love them.

I believe that the most important and sentimental pieces of jewellery that a woman will own will be her wedding and engagement rings. I hope you fall in love with a ring from my store and create your own Heirloom full of love, joy and promise!
