Sherman Oberson's Profile

About

My name is Sherman Oberson. I live in Mount Airy a great old section of Philadelphia.
I've made art as long as I can recall. I am constantly trying out new mediums but keep getting drawn back to three. They are Polymer clay, Metalworking and Collage. Other things come and go but they tend to always pop up in my work, sometimes together. I've worked with clay the longest, for over 20 years and I am a former Co President of the Philadelphia Area Polymer Clay Guild. I've been working in collage mainly bacause I love vintage imagery and had to figure out a way to enshrine the images that I love. I came to metalworking by accident, I took a class thinking to learn how to make bezels for my clay work and fell in love with it.

My style and taste runs from kitsch to classy(I hope) and everything in between. I am a pack rat and proud of it but even I have to limit what I own which is why you'll find quirky vintage supplies on here as well. They are usually things I've bought or rescued and that I have too many of or I bought just because I couldn't leave them behind.

I hope you enjoy visiting my shop. Keep checking back since I add things constantly. I am thrilled to be a part of Etsy and also to survive by making things I love and selling things that interest me. Thank you for supporting the arts, and the growing indie craft movement.
