I was born and raised in the Philadelphia area. I moved to Richmond, VA to study at Virginia Commonwealth University, where I focused my interest in the craft arts, especially metalwork and ceramics. Although both clay and metal proved compelling media, I discovered a love for wearable art, and spent a majority of my time in the jewelry studio at VCU until I received my BFA.
After years of various waitress jobs, and a stint as a picture framer, I became a graphic designer. I love design work, but still felt the need to create something away from the computer. Misfortune turned to opportunity when several years ago I was laid off right before the holidays. With no money, but plenty of time, I started making jewelry to give as gifts, and I remembered what it felt like to make something REAL. Thanks to encouragement from friends and family I'm back to doing what I love, and I hope to share that with…
