About

At 5 years old, I knew I had an interest in clothing when my cousin and I would fashion "dresses" out of bath towels!

I learned to sew when I was 13 and took as many home ec. classes as possible throughout high school.

In college, I studied Graphic Design, Art & Color Theory while also studying under a local fashion designer outside the university's curriculum.

Upon moving to San Francisco in 1999, I had my sights set on bringing my career in fashion to fruition and quit my "corporate job" in 2001 and began to design under my own label, Silver Lucy Design, with no formal training. DIY Designers unite!

My mother taught me to knit and I worked in various yarn shops for over 6 years and now teach knitting classes at ImagiKnit in the Castro District.

While the Bay Area offers many unique qualities in design, art, food and culture, I've had the continued pleasure of working alongside some of the most innovative and talented fellow designers who continue to push the fashion envelope while considering our eco-friendly standards (as we should!)

My focus has been mostly on helping women feel fantastic through fashion in order to break through stereotypical and social stigmas - things that ties us all down - not allowing our inner light to shine! The theory being, if you feel fantastic, you ARE fantastic! Stop worrying about your weight, size, shape...you're beautiful, I promise!

And as they say, the rest is history in the making!
