About

About me? My Mother always said, “She has to make something…” and what can I say, but that I’m still sillily (is that a word?) thrilled when I’m swirling paint, have sticky fingers, or toting a creative thought that’s hanging just a few inches further than I can reach. An idea that may take color, imagination and a few hours to wrangle, gets my attention!

I travel some as I help connect teachers to working overseas. I’m just in from a trip to China and Japan. In Nagoya a little
three year old said to me, “My Mimi has toy hair. So, why do YOU have toy hair?” Ok, so now you know the second thing:
I have very naturally curly hair. I later found out that his Mimi has toy hair, which in her case is a wig, because she is getting through the cancer journey (and doing well, I might
add). I have toy hair, well, because I’ve always had toy hair

I travel some as I help connect teachers to working overseas. I’m just in from a trip to China and Japan. In Nagoya a little

I have very naturally curly hair. I later found out that his Mimi has toy hair, which in her case is a wig, because she is getting through the cancer journey (and doing well, I might
add). I have toy hair, well, because I’ve always had toy hair
and it’s not a wig. If I was going to wear purchased hair
about town, here or in the Far East, I don’t believe I would
pick a style quiiiiiiiite this wild.

So, now you know two things about me, one that I like to imagine in paint and two, my hair is springy. As a previous
teacher, I so enjoy tethering teachers to a location in Turkey,
China, or Central Asia. Please convo me if you’d like to hear
more about that! My husband and I and our children, lived
over a decade in S. Korea and a stint in Hong Kong. We are
now in Southaven, Mississippi. Our three wonderful boys are
grown and we are tickled that they happily find their way
home for visits.

Now with my “toy” hair, let me show you around this Simply Barefoot shop. By all means, please feel free to grab a cup of tea and of course, kick off your shoes!
