Our Five Artisans

Missy studied Art in high school but is otherwise self-taught. She has many crafting interests such as needleworking, painting, jewelry making, designing clothes and sculpting with clay. She repurposes many materials she uses. Her jewelry is often made from recycled pieces of various objects; always looking at things of this world with an artist's eye. Missy was diagnosed with Juvenile Arthritis at an early age but does not let this stop her creativity. We hope you enjoy her work many works.

Barry has never studied Art but was taught to work with his hands while helping his father in construction work and cabinet making. This and his background in mechanical drawing has led to a love for woodworking. He likes to design objects in wood and to see the finished product, whether it be a small trinket box or a larger piece of furniture. His love for woodworking has helped with the challenge of his osteoarthritis.

J.P. had very little Art training but has natural talent. He is willing to try different medias and styles but excels in pencil and ink drawings. He is one who uses what is available to him to his utmost advantage. He is also an artist who likes to repurpose found items in his work, be it two or three dimensional.

Chris is an Impressionist Artist who majored in Fine Art at Ohio University. She captures a moment in time using vivid colors and bold brush strokes. She is an established artist along the East Coast; from petite to grande, her canvases hang in cozy barns and elaborate mansions across the United States. She strives to capture the soul of the animal, it's heart, character and personality in her work.

Jo has always been interested in Art, animals and nature. She studied Art all through school and Commercial Art in technical school. Along with being an artist, she is also a crafter. She was taught embroidery by her aunt when a young child. She loves teaching others this craft also and leaving something of herself in each piece. She likes creating her own designs and making beautiful legacies in thread to be enjoyed by generations to come!
